Before his ascension, Christ gave his disciples an instruction. They were to head out to the nations and tell everyone about the good news of salvation. This is what is widely known as the great commission. As Christians, we are instructed to use every opportunity to tell our neighbours and friends about the love of God.

During this pandemic season, there is limited interaction. The governing bodies and health organizations advise a minimum distance of 1.5meters from other people to prevent the rapid spread of coronavirus, and a phenomenon called flattening the curve. While effective, it leaves us Christians at an impasse on how to evangelize without social interaction by wearing Christian Mask.

Face masks were initially introduced to prevent the spread of harmful coronavirus particles. These became effective when an infected person sneezes or coughs, and the mask prevented the one from inhaling or spreading the virus while out in public. If you are keen on the latest happenings globally, you know, the world has struggled another wake of a global pandemic. This occurrence has etched itself as one of the few. That placed world systems at a standstill.
With half the world confined to their houses, it felt like this was humanity's end. However, as Christians, we are encouraged in Jeremiah 29: 11 that God has our eventual outcome in mind. Today. We're going to talk about God's faithfulness in our highs and lows with some Bible examples to encourage us along the way.

We all have been at rock bottom at a point in time. These are the times we felt that everything is going against expectations as Christians. Maybe we thought God abandoned us His Mercy.

However, there is good news today that God is aware of our circumstances. Our Heavenly Father knows every hurdle we face and even has a better plan for His Children. All we have to do is have faith in Him. For instance, I have, on numerous occasions, experience God's provision far above my expectations.
The most shocking one came to the time I was just done with studies and landed my first job as a salesperson. A few months down the line, the expectations fell short of Investments, and we would be dismissed to that notice now. It is essential to know that at that time. I had pumped all my savings into that month's expenses. Hoping that I would restore the balance has once payment is processed.

However, this quickly turned into a mistake as the job came to an abrupt end, and we were given half our expected pay. Then there I was, jobless with half the initial savings that were supposed to last me for a while. Spoiler alert, it didn't. I went through the driest season of my youth at that time.

As I sat down, I realize that I had placed my dependence on my job and myself as a sure foundation instead of depending on God entirely. After this, I immediately received a call for an even better job opportunity that paid twice the salary of my previous job. That's like the verse Jeremiah 33:3, where God encourages us to call on him in our troubles. Isn't this amazing?

We see another instance in Joseph's life when he was thrown in jail under false accusations. However, God used Joseph's predicament to propel him to the highest seat in that land. Despite how things seem, God's will and plan for our lives is best for us. Today we get encouraged to remember and place God as our only dependent because his plans are always right.

A few weeks ago, while sitting on my patio, I gazed out into the distance and wondered what the eventual need end of temptation is. If, as Christians, do we get a one-time deal of Christianity and what is the importance of being a temptation. Yet the more I pondered on this topic in prayer, the more I came to see the goodness of Jesus. At the time. I had just finished a good run off of favorable outcomes, my ventures picked up a bunch, and my projects kept falling in place like little Lego pieces. However, it wasn't foreseen that right as Pharaoh saw seven fat cows and seven lean ones, there was still was a low season to come. 

This is a typical example of the good times we get as Christians.  Solomon tells us of seasons in Ecclesiastes; there's a time for everything, an auspicious time when everything effortlessly works and a not so much desired season. On a personal level, this season was a very successful one, and I thought I would sing God's goodness forever. However, just as winter follows summer, so does a tough season follow a seemingly good one. 

Refreshing back on the biblical narrative, we can see a similar situation in Job's life. Job's tale starts with a successful run as being a blessed believer enjoying God's provision. I mean, if Job lived in our current day, he would easily be among the world's most prosperous, sharing circles with Jeff Bezos and the rest. In the narrative, we see Job's good run turning to ashes in an instant. His massive shift from a lifestyle of grace to grass. In such a short period, it is unappreciated to this day. However, it serves as an example of our daily struggle with understanding seasons. 

Funny still, my circumstance is tied back to Job's example, though not as drastic as his. At that time, a lot of things come to a halt gradually. The once set system of fortitude against lack did not last as I expected. So here I was sitting down pondering why it was so, and the thoughts came to mind. If God is so loving, why did he let my efforts dry up? Such questions came up frequently at a tough time, and they nearly succeeded in making me question God's goodness in our lives. Mercy! 

It was at this time that I stumbled upon the How Sweet is the Name of Jesus T-Shirt, and it challenged my mind. If Jesus is good, why was I going through tough times? This topic led me to realize that as a Christian, I am required to maintain my faith. Our faith in Jesus is not a one-time subscription but a daily one that should grow come what may. In these seasons, we realized that low times come to test our fealty in what we believe in. 

If we treated the academic sector like our Christianity, we would have a one-time elementary exam at the elementary level that would set the level henceforth. There'll be no need for more exams. However, just like the academic struggle, we get regular tests to keep us on track and remember not to lose focus on essential Jesus. Looking back at his word, Jesus promised tough times ahead of us, and no one is exempted. However, he also promises that he will not leave us nor forsake us when facing tough times and situations. This, for me, solidifies the matter of How Sweet Is the Name of Jesus. 

It has been months into the COVID-19 pandemic that has changed life the way we know it. All that we are used to is so different and increasingly concerned about what we are used to ever going back again.

We are all looking to our leader, but unfortunately, they fail us; even the medical experts are not giving us the straight-forward solutions to the matter.

The time is now and not later for us to realize that the LORD is right with us in all this and even if it doesn’t seem so. Whether Jesus calms the storm or calms us in the storm, His love is the same, and His grace is enough. He is our dependable God.

Jesus our High Priest in order of Melchizedek required us to pray and our God we answer. The church the body of Christ, even when we can come together physically due to restriction of the pandemic, we can always connect together, thanks to technology. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them (Matthew 18:20). Jesus is our strong tower. Much is going on and easy to be discouraged. Everything we hear tells us that normalcy has been taken away. But we shouldn’t store up treasures in this life, anyway; it’s temporary.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Philippians 4:6-7 

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 27:1 

The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?

The main problem nowadays is that people don't know who God is, and to make matters worse, they compare HIM with other gods. Maybe that is why some Christian chose to refer to him as YAHWEH. That brings me to say that the root of our problem today is the misunderstanding of who God actually is. 

We should be less concerned about searching for who we are and searching for who God is; with this in mind, we will endeavour to focus on God's greatness and why He is so great that no one can compare. I have listed below twelve reasons why how great our God is matchless: 

Unsearchable 

Psalm 145:3 reads that God's greatness is unsearchable, that no one can fathom it. The greatness of God is incomprehensible. Infinite God cannot be understood by a finite people that we are. His greatness can't be put in a comprehensible expression. God has only given us the knowledge of what He wants us to know. We can spend our entire lives without getting to grasp the knowledge of God (Deuteronomy 29:29). 

Holy

God is holy. His Holiness can't be compared to any other (1 Samuel 2:2). He does not have any sin, and even His name is Holy and eternal. 

He has no Beginning 

No one created God, He has no beginning, and no end, and He created all things; in fact, He created beginning and thus called the Alpha and the Omega, which is coined from the Greek alphabet. 

Self-sufficient 

God is self-sufficient God. He has no need of any kind. ….If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it (psalm50:10). God does not need us to guarantee His existence even despise our pride. He only wants us to be grateful for what we have received. 

Changeless 

Malachi 3:6 reads For I, the Lord, do not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, unlike our ever. 

He is before Time 

Time's concept has always confused man, and we still want to put a beginning and timing to things, but God is God over Time. He exists outside of our time limitations. He is our everlasting Father. 

Omniscience (knows everything) 

He knows the end from the beginning. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure (Psalm 147:5). Nothing can be hidden from God. He knows all. 

Custodian of wisdom 

"If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking." –James 1:5. Only God has all the wisdom we need, and we only need to ask Him and His ways are not our ways. 

 Incorruptible God 

God is faithful. He can always be trusted that He will not let us down; we can be sure that He will be there for us. God is greater than the highs and lows and He is dependable. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of Love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments (Deuteronomy 7:9). 

God is good all the Time 

God is everything that is good in the world. There countless passages in the bible, referring to the goodness of God. How many times have we had people said that something miraculously just turned at their lowest times. (James 1:17) says Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. God is the source of all. Nothing is created without His knowledge. 

Omnipotent God (great in power) 

Man and our limited power and resources are just impossible, but there is no impossibility in our great God. (Luke 1:37) reads, For nothing will be impossible with God. 

Salvation 

Salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12). God's Love has given us salvation despite our rebellion towards him. (1 John 5:11-12) says And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. God loves us and great in Love that He gave us His Son. 

Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised, Our God is greater, and His greatness is unfathomable. 

‘Why would you buy that?’ one of her friends asked. 

“Because Jesus matters,” she responded. "And I want the world to know!”

Majority of Christians in the '90s, particularly the youngsters at the time, spotted WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?) bracelets as a reminder to reflect on Christ's example in their lives and pledge allegiance to Christ's ways and His teachings. In the past few decades, many cultures across the world are embracing Christian t-shirts and clothing with the trend becoming more widespread. Secular stores have not been left out and can be seen stocking religious-based merchandise. 

Christian t-shirts may contain a slogan in the form of a Bible verse, a commentary or message that seeks to get solutions to common and tough issues in life.

What is the purpose of tees with Christian writing? To advertise? Promote? Rebel? Make a statement? Stand up for one's truth? Frequently, those who wear Christian labelled tees identify with the statement on it. They are passionate about Jesus and want to spread the word to enable others to meet Him and know Him. They see Christian tees as a powerful tool to shine a message of hope in a seemingly hopeless world.

This is what Jesus said in the Book of Matthew Chapter 5, verses 1:

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.” 

But on top of the latest fashion trends, what makes tees and Christian branded clothing worth printing and wearing?

Encouraging and powerful messages

It is written in Hebrews 3:13, "But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called 'Today,' so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin." 

This message may be one among many that encourage Sandy and other Christians to wear Christian t-shirts. It may just be the message that somebody needs to feel uplifted. Imagine entering a room full of people and hearing that the powerful message on your t-shirt stood out and reassured others. 

Sharing and Proclaiming One’s Faith

Wearing a t-shirt with a Christian message shows other Christians that you share the same faith and this way, you may identify and unite with fellow Christians.

John 4:41 - And many more believed because of His word.

If many believed because of His word, why not share the word in a trendy way that catches attention. Through t-shirts with a Christian message, God's word is shared to workmates, classmates, friends and even strangers. Tees can also be used to proclaim one's faith as the message of Christ is shared and spread.

Exalt His Name, Declare His Works

Christians are overjoyed when it comes to letting others know what Jesus has done for them. A Christian t-shirt is just one of the ways that can be used to exalt and declare, letting it known that He is alive in us.

Inspiration

A Christian message on your tee may touch someone, somewhere and give them the motivation to keep going no matter how bad things are. The inspiration that such a message holds cannot be ignored.

With a Christian t-shirt, what you stand for and believe is seen. But, the overall purpose of wearing Christian t-shirts should go beyond a fashion statement or a walking billboard. The specific goal should be to live the words on the messages being spread—  to spread the light that the words hold. And even more importantly, we should not let our beliefs live only in print but through the spreading of the faith, hope and love. And the greatest of all is love— a love that should go beyond the words imprinted on the chest or sleeve of your Christian t-shirt.

The power of words cannot be underestimated. After all, in the beginning, was the Word...

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20

Hope (biblical form) is the confident expectation of what God has given us.

In such a time like this, we need hope. We need to trust in God with all our hearts even in the darkest days. As it says in Psalms 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil, for the Lord is with me, your rod and staff comfort me.” This is a bible verse explaining we should be strong and trust in God. If you have hope it will take all the stress, anxiety, and worrying and will make you calm. Hope helps us to have strength and trust in the Lord.

My fellow friends, we are going to share with you some bible verses about hope. Firstly, Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Secondly, Proverbs 10:28 The hope of righteousness brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish. Psalms 147:11 But the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.
